Local-first, explained

Finzu stores your accounts, statements, and Ledger on your own device. There’s no server holding a copy, no account to sign into, and no third party that ever sees a transaction — the app simply doesn’t need any of that to work.

What that buys you

• Privacy — your bank data isn’t sent anywhere finzu doesn’t run. There’s no company database of your transactions to be breached, sold, or mined.
• Speed — every screen reads from data that’s already on your device; nothing waits on a network round trip to a server.
• Offline — no connection, no problem. Import, review, and browse your Ledger exactly the same on a plane as at home.
• No lock-in — since there’s no server-side account, there’s no vendor who can shut down and take your financial history with them.

What it asks of you

A server that holds your data also backs it up for you, whether you think about it or not. Local-first flips that responsibility to you: your device is the one copy, so losing it without a backup means losing your ledger.
